Your question is a little general. Are you having trouble with miking or recording itself? It would also depend what type of four track you are using

why do you want to mike a drum seat? Unless you plan on adding another instrument then just stick the mike between your... um, nevermind. I've gone too far over a simple typo!

Its quite complex buisiness to do it right & would take a long while to explain fully without being able to show you but if you check out http://www.sospubs.co.uk/ & search for drum miking, it will explain all. hope this helps. Can you bounce tracks with your 4 track??

I'm by no means a master engineer, even though I went to recording school and have been doing home projects for years, blah blah
what you need to do is mic the bass drum, the snare, and an overhead, and then bounce those 3 tracks onto a 4th track, freeing up the first 3 for guitar and whatever. or get yourself some kind of mixer and mix however many mic inputs into one of your 4 tracks I wouldn't worry terribly about sonic purity with a smaller tascam unit like that, just go for feel and have fun with it. I wasted a lot of years trying to get the right reverb, only to lose inspiration quickly and never actually record any songs. make it fun for yourself instead let us know how it goes!
