Frank lemme ask you something, you always get a clean sound
what noise gates do you use for the guitar,

I don't use any noise gates just old tube guitar amps like Fender [66 and 65 Super Reverb and Vibo-King] and Marshall JMP 50 watt with 4x12 Marshall cab with 25 watt greenback Celestion speakers. I turn them up pretty loud. The tubes in my amps are supplied by LordVavle who deals in the very best vintage tubes used by the serious in the know professionals.
I also use Xotic pedals like the new BB Preamp and RC Booster to drive my amps a bit. I also like the Maxon SD9 and Ibanez TS9 Tubescreamer. All effects like delays and reverbs are done in Logic Pro 7 software. Live I use Fender reverb and the Electro-Harmonix Memoryman Delay. I really try to use the same gear as Jimi Hendrix, he always seemed to have the best guitar tone! If it ain't broke don't fix it! Check out Jimi's Band of Gypsies guitar tone. I also play an old Fender strat with 1968 pickups and electronics by Fender. New strat pickups don't seem to sound as good to me. If you can't get an old strat, John Suhr makes awesome strats and single coil pickups.

I'm not really interested in doing pop covers since i did them for years in clubs. I'd rather focus on original ideas or jazz standards. biggrin

christ your lightyears ahead of me,
the only peice of gear ive heard that you listed was the Electro-harmonix delay, which im considering getting,
as for old strats... maybe in a few years lol when i can save the money lol
you seem to have harness Hendrix's tone minus the dirtyness
Hendrix had away with pickup harminix, used the feedback he got and made it part of his solos,

I noticed this too. It's a little Satriani/Via with as much control you have over the distortion.

Frank,
Thanks for sharing your set-up and this music. Flat out amazing playing as usual and it seems like you are somehow just getting better, if that's possible?
