I kinda thought of this in my car, listening to the tunes ive done
talked to some fellow artist and realized it was the same with them.
So basically this thread is to spill the beans,
to make some connections happening,
for the people who are special at something, can help others become broader musicians willingly,
So discuss writing styles, genre specialties, anything to your fortè
So music wise what are your strengths and weaknesses?
what concepts do you find yourself doing over, genres, scales ,
What do you feel are your weaknesses?

Me personally my strengths are within the Rock/Trip Hop (i call it TRIP ROCK) area...
Im prone to make some tunes you mellow out too, with a rock edge
Im pretty good at making R&B grooves as well
Song Writing wise, i tend to use alot of philosophical, religious stuff
Laced with a whole bunch of imagery, my songs are always deep,
I seriously dig the minor scale, naturally i write songs to it, usually in the Aeolian minor mode

I've found that alot of my weaknesses are conventional pop music,
Funk is extremely hard for me, im one for complexity
and whenever i try something funky, i start to scratch my head, trying to become a minimalist. Im not very creative with bass lines, but im working on it, i tend to convey more attention to the treble sound of things
I also can't make Pop ditties, which to me is kinda limiting
for some reason i just can't write meaningless dance numbers
i try extremely hard and it cant come out, and i find it limiting as a song writer that i can't do simplistic stuff like that, I also wanna start becoming creative with modes and scales, im trying harder to do major scale type songs, and learning the oriental/arabic mode and trying to incorporate it to my music
I would like to venture more into world music, funk and jazz,
