Some introductions are in order around these parts

There's a few of us regulars around here but I'm noticing a lot of new faces/sounds as of late. So consider this a getting to know each other thread.

Let's answer a few basic questions and then add whatever else that would help us know more about you.

1) Where are you physically located?
2) What's you main instrument and what's your method of recording?
3) What other web sites do you share your music with people on?

Here's me.
1) Detroit, MI
2) Guitar (followed by drums as a close second) and I use Sonar/Cakewalk on a PC
3) I really don't use any other web site other than my own and here.

Finally, my name's Chris (Hi Chris) and I just love the groove. Funk is my addiction but music is my reason for being alive. I work in Advertising like a few people around here and will be in college for the rest of my life. In addition to music there's just so much to learn.

1. I live in New York, NY (Upper West Side).

2. Play keyboards as a hobby. Just started playing live in the last 2 years, and recently joined an R&B/Funk cover band.

I don't really record, rather focus on playing live.

My gear is all Yamaha (2 digital pianos and a motif classic 6).

I also have various drum machines I've collected (including a LinnDrum! which I never use).

I started bass about 10 years ago and want to go back to it but right now it's sitting in my closet with broken strings smile

3. Only shared music once on here, a song I wrote in college which made it to that Minneopolis sound compilation CD (I was very flattered!)

I just recently joined Myspace and may put up some stuff from my band at some point.

1) Detroit, MI
2) Violin mostly, but flute now and then. I mainly use ProTools--currently on a PC, but hopefully that will change to MAC soon. I mess around with Cakewalk SONAR and REASON on occasion.
3) I use my website and MySpace.

In addition to being a musician and private music teacher for flute and violin, I am also a licensed professional counselor. I have a private practice and I also work part-time at a local community college as a college counselor. More info about me can be found at my website (see my sig.)

1. I'm from The Hague, The Netherlands. A city well known for it's raw electroscene, it's Europe's Detroit!
2. When we produce with Bumper we use the hardware my friend Ingmar has at home, he has various synths (Nordlead, Juno 106, Casio CZ-101) and effect modules, and a bass and electric guitar and an original 808 drummachine. We record using an AKAI MPC as a sequencer and a laptop with Cubase. At home I use Cubase and Reason and I have an electric guitar. Originally I am a drummer and I have been a singer in a rockband when I was a wee young lad.
3. Soundclick (although I don't use it as much anymore) and MySpace.
RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

You submit your song, and their crew gets around to writing a review. Good input, valuable for getting some snippets for reviews.

Just curious confuse : do you mean MySpace as a *whole* is not so valuable, or just not valuable to *you*??? Do you recommend anything else? My page there is relatively recent and so far has been helpful. I don't just approve everyone to be a "friend", I mainly approve people who are sympatico with my band's ideals.

Again, just curious!
