has pertisapating here on the org. artist community change you as an artist.. if so in what ways have you changed. also do u think that any of the artist here will ever reach the status of being reconized on a broader scale?

My dialogues with NuPwr319 have moved me along radically on a new musical path, because she is the only one I've had to talk to about improvising on the violin coming from a classical tradition.

VinaBlue introduced me to The Artist's Way and that changed my life and my entire approach to artmaking. It recently led to me taking big risks and performing in a way I never had before.

Those are the biggies.

I think at first. Then all of a sudden it seemed like a lot of people that I used to really count on for feedback here just stopped commenting. So I had to think about why. And sometimes I think that there should be a different setup here. Like something to draw more ORGER support and participation. Since we all are musicians, singers, songwriters, etc, we should definatley try to support each other. The bad thing about that is that their are IMO two different types of critiques. A musicians critique and a non-musicians or a music lovers critique". Who to value more? I thing Prince.org should have a different setup so we can draw more critique from the people who post in the other forums. Prince fans are people who love alternative music and a wide variety of eccentric artist. I really would love to get the critique of non-musicians more. Sometimes musicians are too interested in how "they" would do a song rather then stepping back and really listening to the song as a created project of another musicians mind.

Anywho.... Prince.org was the first place I shared my music with complete strangers and got feedback. Jason and I, and a few others... (Cloud9 and PP4?) we suggested a seperate forum so all us Prince-inspired musicians could critique and support each other. Before this forum I only played my music for friends that I knew for a long time and completely trusted. Not becuase I was worried about people stealing my ideas, but because this is very personal stuff... I'm bearing my soul and not just anyone can take a peek inside... Now I'm on myspace mostly...

I'm very thankful for all the beautiful people I've met on this board. Styles/Jshua is like my twin bother, my higher self, my teacher, my lifeline... Words cannot express how important he is to me. His insight has been a Godsend.

Who will be recognized on a broader scale? Hopefully Jshua will... He deserves it... And maybe me... If I ever get off my butt and get to work! I got an email recently from the BBC Asian Network. They asked me for a cd because they were looking for unsigned artists to promote. So I plan on sending that over in a few weeks. I've been talking (emailing) with lots of well known producers and DJs in the Asian Underground movement that might put one of my tracks on a compilation... Again as soon as I get my shit together these are possibilities.
