Many or you may be familiar with "Elephant Dreams" already. If not, check the link. It's a cool project/film short that's a collaboration of 6 artists and the remote help of an online community. You can download it here (some of the bit rates are really slow...try 'til you get one that won't take a month to download). You can also watch it here. The process is impressive so I thought you guys would appreciate...especially since this place is ripe for large collaboration(even if remote).

It's all done with an open source software so you can download the film, soundtrack, making of, source files etc...

This looks AWESOME! I'm downloading the 99MB quicktime file now. I love this look in animation like some of the Tim Burton movies.

No, I've never heard of http://blender.org and I can't beleive that.

I'm going to have to download the software. I see they have a MAC version. 3D modeling and animation has always intimidated me. But I do know that's where a lot of work will be in the future.

Yes, one of these days, we need to get the ball rolling on a large collaboration with a song. We've done the collaborated CD's and several artists have paired together on songs, but ONE LONG FUNK ANTHEM would ROCK. (maybe a collaborated video too?)
