I've been at home, playing Mr. Mom and Nurse Beau to the wife while she's recuperating, so no gigs late. But finally I got out a couple of weeks ago and really hurt myself with the drinking and the staying up late (Artist8 knows what I'm talking about. Babies don't come with snooze bars).

Open jam two weeks ago - that's why it sounds a little uh, disorganized. That's not my usual band - but that's my backup singer Melissa.

This is a jam session, is the audio all from the camera mic? It seemed like an open jam but the band was tight on the changes, practice before-hand much?

Those clips are from two different nights. The clips with me in a white tshirt are the open jam, BUT, I'm playing with the guy who did the drums on my CD (so he definitely knows the songs) and the bass player's done a lot of shows with me over the years, and he hosts the jam, so he's heard my songs about ten billion times.

The other set of clips are of my band (the Magnificent 7) playing a benefit for the club owner (she had a heart attack - medical bills, etc). The keyboardist playing during "She's Too Rich For Me" is Lola - the girl I used to gig with way back 3 years ago, (I posted a clip from her show, doing a funky ass "gimme one reason" by Tracy Chapman). She just came up and sat in with us on those couple of songs.

I really liked that version of Superhot Lady Cop. 5 minutes before our performance, I told the band, "hey, let's do Superhot like a Curtis Mayfield song! Who's with me?"

None of them knew what a "curtis mayfield song" is exactly like. I'm thinking, uh, SUPERFLY? PUSHERMAN? Jeez these people...
