Moderator | The players or the instruments?
In most rock/pop bands, the guitar player is usually the cocky one with the ego the size of a tractor trailer and sports all the girls as much if not more than the lead singer. The bass player is usually the over weight guy that drinks as much as the rest of the band members combined that sinks back into the shadows of the stage and plucks the same 3 notes, sustaining them for a bar or three at a time. Almost always gets NO girls or credit. All Rights Reserved. |

Moderator | short hand for most pop music:
6 strings (more associated with the high freqency/melody sounds of a song) 4 strings (more associated with the low frequency chord sounds of a song) Think ... Guitar: chink, chink, chink Bass: dum, dum, dum All Rights Reserved. |

That was a joke. You could run a guitar through a guitar synth and get a bass sound. I would suggest you and your son visit a music store and talk with the techs. They should be able to point your son in the right direction with whatever equipment he already has. All Rights Reserved. |
