Looking into buying an electric piano: dumb question time.

Much to my dismay, the family piano has been sold... I want to buy an electric piano and I have a question... a lot of the ones I see don't have sustain pedals... are they sold seperately? How do they work?

I've only ever used a traditional Grand Piano so I don't really know much about this... any help would be greatly appreciated.

get a sustain pedal off of ebay or at a music store, they are pretty cheap but they move all over the place if you don't tape them down.

spend a little extra money and get the sustain pedal that looks like the real piano pedal. it won't run away on u. it stays put well and has a better feel. the sustain pedal is the least of your worries. I would recommend you get a synth/workstation with weighted keys like the Yamaha MO8 or the Korg Triton Extreme or Studio.

You mean this? ....

Thanks for the replies.

It sure looks good. Are the piano sounds authentic?

Also, where's the best place to buy a workstation like that for a good price?

For piano, go Yamaha.

Depending on your price range, you can get the p200, or the p90.....

although i think thye upgraded to new models now . I hve both of the above. they both come with sustain pedals. one is portable, the other isn't. action is like apiano.
