Your music trademarks?

Ok so most musicians have certain trademarks in their music that makes it different/special to eveything else. But whats yours? I seem to have an unusual thing where I use things that are out of key in alot of my songs. It's strange because if i used things that were in key it wouldnt sound nearly as good. razz

So what makes your music different to all the other stuff out there?...

Well, I use a saw wave synth on a lot of my songs (much like the synth on DMSR), and I use a string stab pad synthesizer on alot of my songs as well, and I use loops with occasional add-in's and take-out's much like techno and trance artists do.

Seriously, though, I'd like for someone to tell me - try this group of selections and let me know.

My use of sex metaphors in lyrics- anything from "toolbox" to "coin slot" to "mud for the turtle" - somehow every song is about sex.

And an overindulgent use of harmonies.

And the inability to finish a song.

And, and, uh, flailing light-speed solos that say and do nothing. I rule at those.

EDIT:
Artist08, your use of stereo chorus and minor chords. That's your signature.

Our songs all sound like alike. Handclap on the 2 and 4, synth bass, rhythm guitar, danceable, vintage synth sounds, vocoder. Basically we're trying to emulate a mix between "More Bounce To The Ounce" and "Erotic City" with each song we make. Pathetic, I know, but there's nothing else we can do! wink

I don't know if it's pathetic - you naled your style on the head, but each song is good. I think the thing that could push each song to stand out a little more is some kind of cheese hook in each. Throw in the scratch from "Rock It", or maybe some chick moaning, or a toolbox.

Yeah. That's what you need in your songs. A tool box.

Or a blow hole.

I should seek help, hunh?

You're right though, we really have to find a decent singer to make proper songs out of our tunes. Vocals make a huge difference!

My drummer says it all sounds the same, funky, but the same.

Too much use of the 9th chord and a Wah? lol
