I know you're going to laugh at this, but the bass seems way to busy all of the time. A little bit o busy is a great thing, but to have it running on full-tilt the whole time just makes it another guitar solo in the lower range.
But wow man, it sounds really good over all. One of my favorite P songs!! Also tho, if you're trying to update the song, I would say just abandon the original key sounds and try to update those horn hits with something else entirely. Just my thought.
