Trying to break out of my usual crap.

I'm Not An Addict/Temptation (K's Choice/New Order)
www.beaurocks.com/music/a3.mp3

I started doing this cover, and then, after doing all the vocals, (5 of them) and the guitars, (3 of them) the bass, drum patterns everywhere, I dropped everything out, mixed down an acapella version, and then went back and re-did the drums and brought the bass back in, and then just one guitar.

But my goal was to take the song and just TOTALLY re-make it. It's maybe a little TOO Broadway Musicals/Manhattan Transfer now, maybe. But dang I love doing me some harmonies.

Interesting tune for you, it's good.

Overall itt sounds familiar, not like a cover but like you are tapping into a vibe we all know. Keep it up, I want to hear what this is developing into.

Sounds like a fun exorsise. I dig it.

Dropped your CD off at the Bamboo Room along with Frank's about 6 weeks ago. Owner didn't show up for our meeting. But I did get word back just this week that he heard both CD's.

And that's about it. So far ...

Live gigs seem to be getting slimmer every day down here.

Strange news. My company is buying a second corporate office in Atlanta. Reason being is that we're a global company and our senior officers have to make a lot of international flights and Miami is just too far (for them) to drive from West Palm Beach. Who knows, maybe we'll be neighbors next year or at least I'll be up there from time to time with travel expenses paid.

I'm going to catch your band live one of these days to say the least.

Hell yeah! Can't wait for you to get up here.

But, of course, actually, I'm going to stop playing live in about 2 months. I've stopped booking shows, and I plan to take a sabbatical for a year, give or take. Other things require my time a lot more than living the rock star life.

Last show - may 12th. Make it happen!!

With all those harmonies it would've taken me forever to record! How long did THAT take? It is very different for you - vox way forward, too!

it took two nights. first night was just a run thru without knowing the lyrics... then re-did the whole thing the next night, took 6 hours maybe. Unfortunately, my wife never wants to hear that song again - original or cover. Nor wants to talk about it, or hear a lyric quoted.
