"Drive Me"- FINISHED VOCAL VERSION!

Here it is: Naturally, I don't have the best of vocal recording equipment, but I did the best with what I have....if anyone wants to donate studio time so that I can wrap this thing in a fully professional way as opposed to semi-pro, let me know. Until then, this is what it is:

Vocals recorded last night:

Thanks man! I always hear a 80's Prince/The Secret feel to your songs that you write. Plus, 80's retro is always in- retro in general is always good if a person can pull it off, and I think most of us here on the org can pull off retro with style and remain free of corny-ness- we put a new school spin on our old school roots.

I will make this song the first song for our "Spooky Action Heroes" CD- it's me and you and whoever wants to get on the Spooky train!

highfive

Good song, I like your approach. Yeah shame about the low production values on the vocals. You could easily acquire yourself better gear for the same amount of money as proper studio time would cost you and learn to use EQ and dynamics processing a bit more.

thumbs up!

Thank you! I haven't seen you in awhile! Good to see you! I will take your advice on that and start saving for better vocal equipment and a new keyboard/workstation.

Just be always careful with your money. There is so much crap out there these days on the microphone/preamplifier/dynamics front-end -market now that home recording has become so commonplace. You can always ask, for instance, people here what they are using and also ask for sound samples - so at least you'll have some indication on how things will really sound like.

Unfortunately everything is going to cost. sad

Thanks! This song is the collaboration- I did the vocals and beat on this mix but Isaiah wrote the majority of the lyrics and he inspired the arrangement. Isaiah's original version is on his soundclick site at www.soundclick.com/izak1z . Me and Isaiah's new group, "Spooky Action Heroes" will have an EP release very soon, titled "Drive Me" that will have 4 different mixes of the song along with other tracks.

We're gonna try- the new maxi-single should be out soon- it's more of a short LP with about 10 songs. Me and Isaiah work well together- we write very similar tunes and I have always felt his vibe- look at our song from the first NFO CD called "Nothing's Alright (If It Ain't In Line)".

I'm still gonna put lyrics to your instrumental also!

Thanks stim! You know sometimes I get so funky, I don't want to sleep with myself! Good gawd, on the 1....

I have always been influenced by the MPLS sound. Thanks for the kind words. I'll have more jams up in the very near future!

Great job for both of you!
