New version of Best Tonight - real drums, piano!

We'll just make this version 2.1, then.

a08 - all vox, acoustic and electric guitar
sg - bass, keys, lead guitar
bt - drums

This won't be the version that will be on our CD, but it's getting closer...

Dig!

Hey that's not bad, songwise... the drummer sounds a bit too excited though, like he wants to solo all the time and he suddenly changes feel through the guitar solo - that's not a good thing. He's not consistent enough with his ideas, it's like he's improvising throughout the song so as to be distracting.

Otherwise, that is an excellent vocal performance from you and the song itself is catchy and I can see why the Eric Clapton comparison was made, a la the Slow Hand album.

Thanks. I can honestly say I've never been compared to Clapton...lol. I did all the vox last night around 2am eek

I really listened for what you were saying about the drums and I just can't hear it. This was the drum track I picked out from all his takes because I thought it was really steady and solid. I had to really push him to add fills and stuff, too. Hmmmm...

sounds good Tim. I would change the effect on the lead vox. Use a non delay reverb or chorus but go lightly. Music is cool except the guitar in my left ear on the harmony solo part (a few bad notes). Everything else is solid.

Anyway it is cool. I know I could probably not make a country sounding song but if I heard this on the radio I don't think I wudda turned it off, especially with the lyric..
