I wanted to start this thread for musicians (guitar players in this case) that are into playing Prince music. I play guitar and one thing I've always wanted to figure out is (what/how) the hell is he playing the guitar intro on "When Doves Cry"?

I just started takin guitar lessons because of prince. shit i even bought a squier telecaster cuz its the closest looking thing to the hohner i could afford. I really want to learn how to the play the intro to WDC, the PR solo and the riff to Bambi.

All I know is that first chord/sweep. I don't even know the NAME of the chord or the key - you just put your fingers in a diagonal - like this:

E - 5
B - 6
G - 7
D - 8
