In The Darkness Before Twilight

No sound, except for a light wind
through the blades of grass
The glow of the falling moon
the memories of years passed

Where is the sun?
I see the stars, I see the planets
I see the animals in the woods begin to run
I see the city lights on the other horizon

But still no sign of the sun

I wait for another hour
But my hour is longer than yours
I feel trapped as if I could be devoured
How do you compare time versus time?

For what is love without emotion?
What is time without it's essence?
Can love withstand the tests of time?
Is time a test in itself?

I ask these questions in darkness
so that the answers will be revealed in light
A light that I yearn for the hour that I see it
Waiting in the darkness before twilight
