synth question. okay ive had this obession with eletronic music now for like 4 years,and finally i got the courage to start trying to play the synth. my problem of course is i dont know where to start really, i dont even know the basics of a synth. i do of course know the different styles of music within synth community...so what synth or whatever do you recommend for a begginner | |

go cheap until u are sure u will be a serious player. I would try an Alesis Qs6 or a Yamaha S06. They are both under $500. | |

kool..thank you...these aren't rare to find are they,meaning i can probably find them at the local guiter center right? Guitar Center would have them all. I would play them at the store and then order online to get the best price and a few perks as well like no sales tax and free shipping and free gifts. | |

If you are just learning to play, go to guitar center and ask about some of the keyboards with the keys that light up like the Yahama PSR series(I think). These keyboards are designed to grow with the player and unlike the ones from back in the day, they have complete functionality as a full working synth/workstation. Don't be put off by the lighted keys. You will learn MUCH faster than you would if you didn't have them. They have learning systems in them that allow you to follow songs at your own pace and they have sequencers in them so that you can compose your own songs when you're ready. If you are just learning pop music, there's no need to go the learning route of the classical pianist. Good luck. Don't pay over $500 for your first keyboard under any circumstances. There's no need.
