Live clips of my band performing 'P' Medley!

I've edited down an older CD of us performing our P Medley live from the original 18 minute epic to an abridged, breezy 5 1/2! I cut and pasted in GarageBand and tried to enhance it the best I could. Recording is from the soundboard. If you listen closely you can hear people in the background and the soundman's drunk gf getting on the mic at the end...haha.

I'm working on getting some new clips together for the total overhaul of the Groove Clinic website.

Dig if u will...

Good stuff, but it's a little TOO close to the original. Since your voice is so far from Prince's, I would think you might kick more ass if you change the keys to suit your voice - or loosen up the songs a bit, make them yours. (yes, the way that I do it - so, okay, maybe I'm being selfish here).

Am I off-key somewhere? The original keys don't give me a problem at all.

I don't think it's a matter of you hitting the notes - it just sounds odd having you - deep and gruff voice, trying to do the high notes. That's all. Not saying it's bad - it's just an odd pairing. At least your mom says so.

OH I KID!!

no no fruitloop - you are hitting the high notes, but you don't sound like Prince, no more than Mick Jagger sounds like Prince or Michael Jackson sounds like Eddie Vedder - it's just a different VOICE doing the same lines. At which point, why not take the original vocal part and make more of your OWN thing.

THAT'S where I'm going. Instead of trying to sound like Prince, I think you should try to sound like yourself SINGING prince.

That's all whiney-butt!!
