What price do you suggest?

A dollar/euro per song if it's an EP of 5-6 songs is the typical pricing. For an album it's about 50-75% of the EP's price. In your case 12 songs -> 7-9 $ / euros? I recommend 7.50.

I sold mine as cheap as they went (just the production costs, and like a cent of extra), it's the only sensible way to get at least some out in the beginning.

Take how much it cost you to make the CD, from instruments, to studio time to mastering, CD pressing, etc.

Multiply the hours of time you put into it by how many years you've been working on the record, and divide that by the number of songs on the CD.

Subtract how many times you use the word "my" in your lyrics, divide by the number of diminished 7th chords used in the first three songs, (forget about anything past that brother!) and then factor in the number of days until Christmas.

And then charge what you feel you deserve for the work you put into the CD. If you start asking potential buyers to name their price, you might as well give it away.

Prince had 6 songs on his records and charged the same price as the Ramones, who had 43 songs on theirs. Who cares. IT's F-ING ART. YOU, THE ARTIST, NAME YOUR PRICE, BABY!

(but okay, consider the competition. $10 is where I'm at right now. next year, it'll be $14).

You should figure in your time and money it cost you...definitely. I don't think anything is wrong with pricing your cd any where from 8 - 15. Many people like buying independent music and will pay an extra buck because they know it goes to the artist. If you price it too cheap, people will think that it's not quality or that the artist doesn't believe it is. I have mine priced at 10. It's a good even number.

Then again there is this rumor out there that this one girl sold her CD for 1,000 dollars and people bought it.
