It may be a stupid question, but I really don't know what the hell a podcast is!

A podcast is like a radio show, usually in mp3 format.

The way it works is, a website has an xml file that lists these "shows" with descriptions in the xml file.

Your ipod or iTunes can subscribe to this xml file and when a new show is introduced, it downloads the new show automatically.

People use it a lot right now in talk radio type shows, sports, sermons, instructional material, commentaries and even audio books.

Basically it's digital radio put into a format so that everyone can make what ever they like.

Wasn't Prince doing this years ago with the ahdio shows (okay iPods, MP3 players weren't around but...)?
