What the heck is a 'podcast?' It may be a stupid question, but I really don't know what the hell a podcast is! | |

Moderator | A podcast is like a radio show, usually in mp3 format.
The way it works is, a website has an xml file that lists these "shows" with descriptions in the xml file. Your ipod or iTunes can subscribe to this xml file and when a new show is introduced, it downloads the new show automatically. People use it a lot right now in talk radio type shows, sports, sermons, instructional material, commentaries and even audio books. Basically it's digital radio put into a format so that everyone can make what ever they like. http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/ http://www.apple.com/down...maker.html All Rights Reserved. |

'dre Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

'dre Oh yes, not a streaming thing, and so were many others. However, these work a lot differently. Notably the "subscribe" factor that works with the player. All Rights Reserved. |
