yes, but I haven't had a chance to mess around with it yet. That's cool for making clips from my band CDs?

When mixing and composing, I use Apple's Soundtrack: http://www.apple.com/fina...dtrackpro/

Editing files, I use a program called Peak: http://www.bias-inc.com/

Apple's garageband has a lot of doo-dads that make it all easy: http://www.apple.com/ilife/garageband/

When I encode mp3's I use iTunes. Simply import the file and it's all done: http://www.apple.com/ilife/itunes/

To FTP to your website(s) I use Transmit: http://panic.com/transmit/

You might be able to find a bunch of free stuff here: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/

Yes, you can use that for just about anything. Recording and editing/mixing. If you wanted to make clips, simply drag your song file from your finder (file window) into an empty track once you have garageband open. From there just put your curser over where you want to clip it and push the "s" key. Then you can add fades, effects, etc ... Then export it to your iTunes and there's your mp3 ready for upload.

Quicktime Pro: (30 bucks for the key) will allow you to do editing functions as well.

I just got the thing in the mail last night and got it hooked up with no problem. I was shocked when it connected to the internet when it wasn't hooked up. Then I realized it was the airport getting the signal from the wireless that I got for my wife. Hehehehee.

BTW, right now I'm kinda confused...lol.

Really? About what? Unless your "penny loafers" confused, I'll orgnote ya my number if you have some serious hang-ups with your computer.

Remember, Apple MAKES EASY AND INTUITIVE equipment. In my best yoda voice ... "You must unlearn what you have learned."

No more virus scans and updates and hardware failures! Oh, and if you are looking for that right click, simply hold down the control key and click on what ever you were looking for. That was the first thing I missed. If you want that, you can buy a right click mouse and program it to do whatever you want. You can also apply different functions to different programs.

Thanks a mil!!! I didn't know that and I've had this G5 for over a year. I bought a wireless mouse (part of a drawing pad) that I was using from time to time. Oh yeah, GarageBand rules!

Now I'm trying to locate the free software for my Zoom MRS-1608 that takes the tracks from the HD on the recorder and sends them to the computer via a USB port. I have no idea why it's so hard to locate. If anyone could help I'd appreciate it!

whatcha mean?

You downloaded it?
You installed it?
Can't find it?

Open a finder window. All your apps are in the "applications" folder. If you want the little icon on your dock, just drag it from your applications folder down to the dock and you can open the app from there anytime.

I'll give it a try later tonight. I'm burning DVD's right now and I'm not sure installing programs is such a good idea when the machine is encoding.
