HELP! I NEED TO CHOOSE A STAGE PIANO

Hi,

I'm considering buying a cheap stage piano with well wighted keys to practice my piano playing. These are my types:

KORG SP-200
Casio Privia 100
ROLAND EP-760
Yamaha P60

Can any of you guyz tell me anything about these? If you can, please do. I'd really appreciate it. If you think I should think about buying something else I would welcome any recommendations.

Thanks
I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

if those all have weighted keys, any one of them would be fine. maybe the Kurzweil K2000 (not sure of the spelling). I prefer that or Yamaha for sound and quality.

I used to have the p80 which was great. and very portable and light!! it did't have speakers though.

They now make a p120 which has speakers.... and p90 is upgraded version of p80 (forget how they upgraded it). I'd say see if youcan find a p80...

i helped a friend choose a piano (she hadn;t played since childhood) and she got the p60. it's an entry level model but has speakers.....not gerat ones but ok. not any sounds though (maybe just 4).

I upgraded my p80 for a p200 which is more than even i really needed.

Thanks man. All of the stage pianos have weighted keys, but as you probably know, this doesn't neccesarily mean all of them are well weighted.
Casio Privia 100 is the cheapest cuz they are issuing a new model 110, and they wanna get rid of the older one. However it is Casio....

Thanks for the K2000 suggestion. I've looked it up.

Right now I'm trying to choose between Yamaha P60 and KORG SP200 cuz they are about the same price and get pretty good reviews.

Yeah P60 is a cheaper version of P90.I has 8 or 9 sounds. I like most of them. I think I prefer Yamaha's grand piano to Korg's.

As for anything better than P60, unfortunately I'm having a hard time saving for my other project so I have to get the best piano for my practicing routines at the cheapest possible price.

Thanks for your help

What price are you looking at? I'm looking for a small piano for my new place and since I have no money, was going to get on craigslist.org where people give away pianos all the time. But maybe that's dumb to get someone else's bum piano. But if it was affordable. hmmm Then I could maybe buy one. It will also be a pain to move a big one...

I'm lookin for something around 700-800$. That's why my scope of choice is very narrow. wink You can compare the sounds on various online stores or official pages of Korg and Yamaha. Yamaha is much more basic but it wins when it comes piano sounds IMO

BTW I also looked into used pianos but none of them really had a much lower price. I prefer buying a new piano cuz if something is messed up during the warranty coverage I can always lodge a complaint.

If that's yourprice range, I say go with the Yamaha p60. it is allin one with speakers, and Yamaha is known for their piano sounds and weighted action.

Esp since you said it's to practice on vs. use in shows. I can't say how it would sound hooked up to stage amps. My friend got it per my reco and hse is very happy with it as a hobbyist.

but go to a store and listen to it cuz the speakers are not high end and coudl sound tinny if you are used ot higher qulaity studio monitors.

musician's friend is a good website..... my firend went to Sam Ash herein NY and
said she'd pay cash and they gave her the P60, stand, and bench plus not tax I think for $750 total.

the other thing you can do is look for a used p80. i think i sold mine for about $700 or $750 2 years go.
