Wierd, wonderful, new and limited.

Hello All!

It was a fun weekend in the studio. I began 3 new house tunes on Saturday, and Sunday was chill with a remake of Garbage's Queer and an original tune which is still in its demo vocal (need a real mic) stages .

The song is "It Goes" and input from friends & fellow musicians / vocalists would be greatly appreciated.

Free download until this time tomorrow...

I really like it, you have used some very beautiful sounds in this tune. It's nice and spacey sounding. You're right about the mic though, that would be my only complaint, but overall I really like the vibe of this.

Can you post some of the housetracks too?
RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

tal, i hear ya. a good arrangement may enhance the beat a bit more but i do like it as a backdrop... it keeps the music open and spacey.

going in to arrange/complete and re-sing once i get that mic.

Well firstly, Congratulations! I've been getting your e-mails and all I have to say is AWESOME!!!

When I get out of these mountains and back to the city, you can come up but right now I'm living 90 minutes north of Sacto... there isn't even an airport here to speak of. Thanks for listening to "It Goes."
Me? batting eyes Sexy?

That Garbage remake is really dark musically. Not too sure about letting that one out.

Me likey...but I'm biased...I always like your stuff. The only little nit picky thing I would add would be a fuller texture...it sounds a little sparse in places...especially when you are not singing. If that's the sound you wanted then that's cool, but if you are into adding stuff,I would add a countermelody or an extra "something" to break up the repetitive aspect to it. Other than that I think it's great! biggrin

Hey You!

I'm into adding stuff and this is great advice! Can totally feel ya and I really appreciate your input. This is just a demo draft... hot loven from the oven but I'm glad you liked. I will go in and rework sooner than later and I think your suggestion will work brilliantly.

I appreciate the love wink

Cool. Nice mood you've created here.

Funny, though, I had the same thought as talmuzic about the beat - first time I listened I was waiting for it to drop.
But then again, I fully appreciate why you want to keep it sparse.
If this is 'light' I'd be interested to hear how a 'dark', very dubby remix would sound - much nastier beat (but still sparse, with space between hits) just fragments of the vocals with tons of delay, snares ringing out in into space.. that kind of stuff.
