REVIEW OF UNH!

Congrats go out to Beau Hall for his amazing new CD entitled "UNH". Beau went out on a limb and put together a fine product. A very cohesive album project that is true to his style and sensibilities. He has a unique mix of funk, r&b, rock-a-billy, zydeco, new wave, and alternative pop. It really shows what going the extra mile beyond the "home demo" can do for some solid song writing. He took some of his greatest hits to a state of the art "real" studio with a "real" engineer and through weeks of pain-staking work laid down whay will be a prince.org classic album. The production is very clean and polished but still gritty and stanky enough to make your headquake smile.O.K. HEADQUAKE was a band he had about 18 years ago when we first met. I have a demo from that band which will surely be a collector's item very soon. If you don't already have a copy of this CD, you need to do yourself a favor and get yours. Funkmaster B is in full frontal attack. You'd better get in on the ground floor and get to know him while his feet are still on the ground. Again, great job Beau!

Wow thanks man!

Great review! Thank you very much for the kind words, I really appreciate it.

I found this review on the internet today:
For 2005-2006, 152 first-year female students will call Beau Hall home.

At least I THOUGHT they were talking about me until I read the whole article...

Thanks you guys for all your very vocal support of my new record. I really appreciate all the work you've all done to help me on this journey. On the one hand, I'm relieved that the damn thing is finally DONE, but on the other, it's like, yay, I finally bought all the equipment to climb that mountain.

Oh.

Shit.

With the addition to CDBaby.com, it SHOULD be available through download sites within a few days.

Unless of course, you mean the free download places. It's already there I'm sure. bastards. I NEED my money! MONEY MONEY MONEY!

Did I already say that I'm only in this for the money? Self-expression, satisfaction of a job well done - those are all B.S. excuses for the interviews. I want cash. And lots of it.

I want so much money that you can line all my limos up and they'll create a chain around the earf five times.

I want enough money to buy Luthuwania. And if it's not a country anymore, I want to buy all the land that was Luthuwania and make it Luthuwania again, but this time, I'll call it unhthuwania.

I want enough money to buy my own space program. Called UNHSA.

I hope no one has lost my sarcasm here. I'm so totally not in it for the money. Okay, I'm lying. Please refer to paragraph III.

A REVIEW! IN PRINT!!
Beau Hall’s fresh new release of funky, blues-driven pop opens with some soulful Hammond organ playing and sharp harmonica riffs. Unh! will appeal to listeners with crafty sense of melodic representation, instrumentally savvy up-beat song craft and passionate vocal phrasing and lyrics. “Whatchagonnado” arrives complete with the genuine blend of soul and spirit, not to mention a charming, original and well-thought out hook. Hall’s vocals and words are pure and full of heart stirring emotional resonance, seemingly always on pitch of each particular key. “I Wanna Be the One” features the hyperkinetic buzz of Hall’s acoustic guitars which played with a great sense of personality and bleeding with a percussive feel. The backing group of musicians consists of experienced artists who add an edge that keeps these acoustic songs from falling flat on the kitchen table, in terms of overall performance. “Superhot Lady Cop” has one regretful aspect. Although the lead guitars are good, perhaps the lead hook about the title lady should take on the role as the title of the song. (Self-Released)

So when are we going to see you LIVE man! You gotta start recording some of these shows too! BTW, http://www.performermag.c...ecrevs.php "the track line-up also doesn’t seem to accurately match the listings on the album packaging." WHERE? I gotta go get my copy. Not to mention, why would you put that in print anyway? At least the music got all thumbs up.

I sent him a burned copy of the premastered tracks - trying to get the review in the paper at the same time as the CD release party. Stupid thing. I'll learn. On the next CD, I'm having them in my possession before I go doing ANYTHING. Anyhow - I sent him the burned copy and a version of the cover art that was still under construction.
