It seems like we have the same goal in mind 'albumwise' R&B / Dance / Rap / Soul vocals with tripped out elements Why don't you just make a demo with some of your best tracks and start sending that out to some labels? In Holland we say "if you never shoot you will always miss"! You have some cool tracks, so why not give it a try? Marc is doing OK, he just doesn't come around here that often. But from what I know he is doing fine. Cool that we are having the same type of album in mind. Let's work as hard as possible on our "sound", maybe we will succeed one day! Funk - I didn't have time yestidday and this morning to catch this post but now that I am - all I can say to you is the same thing that people are saying to me - THIS AIN'T LUCK or BY ACCIDENT at all. Your stuff is genuine and awesome - whether this guy found you by accident on soundclick or on purpose because somebody else told him to get your stuff - these things happen. Great job.
And hell yeah - it's inspiration to everybody on here to get out of your basement and start refining your art. Paisley - I have always liked your way-out-there music. Go to CafePress.com right now, upload your best 14 songs and they will sell your CD for you online. No cost to you. Period. (oh, sure they keep a chunk of the money, but what record label doesn't?) Look at folks like Jason, LiquidCrystalBlueThunderGregoryWhatsisName - you can get your music out there. FOR ME, a lot of it was self-doubt. (And STILL IS!) I listen to my stuff, I dig it, but I continue to think, "oh come on, really, WHO would dig this stuff on a large scale?" only to find out, like Funk just said, if you don't shoot, you will always miss. So, you PP4, you, Slave, and everybody else with a beat-machine and a microphone, there are masses of people who will snatch your stuff up right now. There are sites out there that will review your stuff right now. As Is. And once you have somebody review your site, suddenly wow, MORE people are willing to listen to your stuff. Do it. And HUGE CONGRATS to Funk and Bumper. I wish I had a 12-inch... www.beaurocks.com Trees are made of WOOD!

This guy found our Soundclick page through an online search on the Linn drum (!) and then asked us for a demo somewhere last year (tip of the week: if you use typical instruments in your music, put their name in the list of searchterms of your Soundclick page!).
Due to circumstances and utter laziness we never got around to sending him the demo, until we recently finished the new mixes of "(I've Got To) Get Down", "My Groove" (with fellow orger Divinaty), "Cosmopolitan Lover" (with fellow orger Flashpointe) and "Everybody Fonki". We thought that these tracks would be a nice package for DMX Krew, because most of these he had already mentioned in his e-mail to us. So hopefully he will like the original recordings (as he only heard the lofi streams at Soundclick) and release them, just like the guy in Scotland Well, unfortunately the DMX Krew guy didn't like the demo like I had hoped he would. He said he liked the tracks, but he thought the tracks on our MDEX release (Tuff Groove/ Detroit) were both better than the ones on the demo CD. Well, he is probably right, I don't know, fact is that Marc picked them too while he had access to the other tracks as well. Maybe the guy in Schotland wants to have them, and otherwise we will have to shelve them. The world ain't gonna collapse if we did. We will just have to continue working on even better material. Some just outshine others. pp4: Those read like fighting words Sorry I've been away for so long. It's tough being everything from mail clerk to executive producer. I actually just stumbled across this post in doing a Google search. I'm just a touch away. AIM: MDEX Recordings Hotmail: MDEX_Recordings Yahoo: marcdeon Keep me posted
