My first song ever on prince.org forums!

Hey ya'll I noticed everyone putting there songs up so I thought I better try my luck. I recorded an album called making love and music awhile ago so I thought I would put the title track on my site for you guys to check out. Let me start by telling you I know nothing about music. I don't know how to read it, I don't understand it, nothing all. All I do is listen and what sounds good I record biggrin
So to some of you guys who are pros and have nice recording studios and stuff don't expect to be impressed cuz I had a cheap mic, a cheap guitar, a cheap keyboard, some beats, and marginal recording software biggrin I am sure you all will recognize some nice blatant rip offs of Prince as well but like they say good artists emulate great artists steal cool but without further adeu check out

www.bluemindandbody.com/songs.html and download making love and music I hope you enjoy it!!! wink And don't be too hard on me I am an amateur!

Cool and original. What more do you want from music/art?

Better quality and more knowledge take more effort (as I've been finding out) and money.

Keep coming up with original material and go with what feels right.

Thanks for sharing it.

Thank you biggrin
I am not sure what I want out of it actually. I love it and wish I could do it all the time, but unfortunately we live in a world that makes that goal a very difficult reality. I am still in college so I am just trying to find what I want to do with the rest of my life and music is so good at letting me escape for awhile from the world and just think. But I will continue to write and hopefully something wonderful will pop out.

Much Luv!

Everybody here is a good producer! Your music is good, don't sell yourself short. I'd say your next step would be to go study some of your favorite songs - listen to how they mix those songs.

In this song, the vocals dominate the tune, everything else is half as dominant, (half as dominant? Is that like Jumbo Shrimp?) anyhoo, roll the vocals down so they sit IN the mix instead of on top of the mix.

I don't think you need a producer ... yet. You're doing great with whatever tools you're using.

I like this, prevch! I can relate to your sound because I too have limited funds. You have major talent though, I can see that by your vocals and your arrangement. Keep it up, man! I like this alot!

Jason

Never let someone see you while getting dressed (unless of course you want them to). In other words, if it's not ready don't post it with a list of excuses. It's sad that with so much space on the radio waiting for a good song, talent like this gets passed over. Now, so far as your voice sitting on top of the music like it is, I love it. It's different. If most had a voice like yours, they would put the voice on top of the music as well. Confidence is flowing in abundance in this song so don't ever say that you didn't have this or that because believe me, I've heard people who have dumped tons of bucks in pro studios that don't sound nearly as good. In a conventional since, I can see why some might complain about the mix but hey, so far as I'm concerned you've got it. The "B" section is totally wicked and to bring it all back home with the chorus is just buttter.
When I grow up, I wanna be like you!
Thanks for the listen. Great Job, great SONG!
