So I finally had a chance to listen to these.

What I love about your music is your voice and while I like the remix it seems like your voice is behind the bass line. In the remix it seems like you're singing in a higher key or is that just me? IMO, I like the demo version's key better. The scratching is cool but see earlier comment on the bass line, it just feels to "in front" in the mix, Maybe that's what a remix is though, so what the hell do I know.

Thanks for posting the 2 versions so I could compare, that was helpful. Someday I'm going to have to figure out how to get that stand alone music player on my myspace account.

Thanks for sharing and I hope my twocents was helpful, that
s the only reason I give it.

I still like the original better. This one has better timing but the favor is different. Almost took it to a hip hop place. The first version was more sublime. cool

Wow. All this time I thought the original was mediocre and too 80s-cheese sounding. I really like the beat that KC did though... I think it give the song more energy and brings it up do date in a way. The new vocals are a scratch vocal take... They could be better. As is always the story.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. hug

Vina, I dig this. I like the remix, but I really like the original best. I think the original is albumworthy, regardless of our equipment (we use the same keyboard). The remix has a funkier beat, but the original is unique and most importantly, it's your vibe.

Talk at you soon.

Your friend,
Jason

I listened to these in order.

It's amazing what one can do with pro tools. I wish I had some sad

The "remix" thingy is better, BUT (and it's a big one), the sitar sound should be used more predominantly(sp?). If you can find someone who really plays one, go with that on this song. But, who am i to say? Another PP4?

Schöne Gruß!

Oh yeah, see, this isn't mixed well at all. It was just thrown together with his beat. I totally agree about the sitar part. wink I'd LOVE to have the real thing... especially with my recent awakening...

pray

It's all a work in progress.

I was so confused when I read that you were looking for a producer. I think both versions are good but I also think that you are holding back a bit. I have always enjoyed your art and listening to the newer version I see things that I would have had you do to sort of bring out the elements so to speak. Pitch seems to be just a bit off in places. Not a biggy but what most concerns me is I hear a very talented person that is obviously holding back a bit. I don't know why I feel this way. Maybe it's just me. Overall I love the material. If you ever fly east, look me up. Thanks for the listen,

hug You're not the first to tell me to quit holding back... I don't think I'll be holding back much longer though... I've been making some breakthroughs lately. These vocals were recorded in like 15 minutes, right before I went to work one day. So these are scatch vocals before the breakthrough. My voice has improved a LOT in the last 2 weeks. I've been singing every day and I'll be recording some tracks soon. Thank you for listening and for your kind words.

peace

Mmm, I like the remix, the drum programming suits the song i believe,
The original is good, but the remix sounds more premeditated, and it shows you worked alot on it, more then the original.

I think its very well done

hug Thank you! It does need some remixing as far as the original sounds are concerned. This is more showcasing his drum programming which I like a lot. I'll be re-doing the vocals and remixing my midi tracks soon. I have to convert them all to audio to make the most of each track. It'll be the first time I do that. This is why I need a producer or engineer... to take care of these details for me. I still want to be involved in the process though, so it's good that I'm learning on my own...

Thanks for listening!

Thank you all. rose

I think its better your doing the process yourself
you learn a whole lot more,
it makes you multi-dimenional artist
dependence on a producer can be crippling at times..

but at times i need help with bass lines and drum programming
its nice to have a producer to help out with that stuff
