Quick question...(about in-line recording) Can someone please point me to a free program for recording to the pc.
For me, it goes like this: record song to 8-track 8-track to minidisc minidisc to pc <-this is the part where i need help I had Musicmatch, but the trial period is over and can't use the in-line recording feature anymore. If not for me, then please for Ms. VinaBlue. She needs my tracks in high quality for the Q4TMS cd project Thanks and Schöne Grüße! it's supposed to be some sort of evaluation version, though they don't seem to have any restrictions on it, so basically it's free. for recording from Minidisc, that would be the perfect free program

Why are you going to minidisk first? That's just one more step where you will lose a little bit if sound quality. I realize it's digital, but you're still going to add some nastiness to it. I used to do it the same way, and then skipped the MD section.
ntrack is supposed to be amazing. It's open-source, so it's free and constantly evolving. The only drawback is that it's got a bit of a learning curve, but, ANY of these methods will have that problem. I definitely recommend it. The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3
