Moderator | "Gavin" (portrait for parents of child lost to cancer) Gavin was the beautiful son of Randy Ward, the bass player in Frank's band. Gavin was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma Stage IV High Risk last November. Gavin earned his beautiful angel wings at 10:30pm Friday night. I plan on giving this to his parents tonight at his service. I'll probably just place it with the flowers in the back of the room somehow. I don't want draw too much attention to it, but I really want to give this to them. Thoughts and prayers to the Ward family. All Rights Reserved. |

Moderator | I can't hug and kiss my own children enough this week. My son is the same age as him. No parent should out live their child.
Looking at the photo, I don't think it really does it justice. I think it came out pretty good, much better than the photo of the drawing I posted. The flash from the camera gives it a rough look. It really looks much smoother. All Rights Reserved. |

This is a beautiful gift and I'm sure it will be treasured.
I cannot even begin to imagine what they are going through, but I am sure that a long time from now, this picture will grant them comfort.

No doubt. Actually, I barely know the father, other than he's a monster bass player. This news just sat heavey on my heart to do something personal for the family. You just think of your own kids and how precious every waking moment really is during times like this. All Rights Reserved. |

Moderator | Thanks guys!
I just got back from the viewing. He will be cremated tomorrow morning. My God. What a beautiful child. The portrait was very well received. There were a lot of musicians there. I couldn't help but get VERY choked up myself. Being a parent myself, you think of the possibility of such a tradgety, but being there and seeing him made it very real. I introduced myself to the mother for the first time and she placed the portrait by the casket after showing it to the family. Man, I love my kids. I know God doesn't cause these things to happen. We have a limited time on this earth and we deal with the cards that have been handed down from our fathers. Although it seems very unfair of the Grand Designer, the design of our bodies is also limited. At least His Word says that the kingdom of heaven is theirs to have. As we get older we have to earn it. My take on the scriptures anyway ... All Rights Reserved. |

It's a terrible thing a child so young leaving so early. As a parent nothing could cause more grief.
I wanted to say that your 'gifts', and caring, thoughtful nature is surpassed by none. ~PClinuxOS~ I've been here longer than I care to remember, ... I drop in from time to time, ...
