Ant, from one slightly large white soul brother to another, you are FONKAY! I LOVE "Come Get Some"- nice smooth lyrics and fonkay bass and synth! You sound alot like Hamish Stuart from Average White Band!

I really like your cover of Purple Rain also!

Good stuff! Share it with us more often man!

Peace,
Jason

Thanks, my friends, for all of your very kind reviews. Let's get this thing going. Everybody who said that they wanted to contribute to the "Wannabees" project, well here it is. Go ahead and submit your work so we can finish this project. Kelly, we might need a deadline to cap this off at some point. Come on org regulars. Don't make me call u by name. peace

Wow... There are some talented individuals on the Org! Tal, I'm very impressed... I do hear a Lenny-esque sound on your track.

Are you guys using CakeWalk or something like that to produce these tracks? I'm just a "lil' ol' guitar player" down here in OKC... I haven't used any hi-tech stuff to put my music together, but I sure would like to learn!

I would really like to hear more guitar action. Do any of you play like the man? (Stupid question probably... I know I don't!) Something along the lines of "The Ride" would be awesome!

What about the ladies out there? Prince's falsetta could probably be mimicked more easily by a female vocal. Let's hear it, girls! smile

You guys are great! Keep on rockin'...

Hey there, talmuzik orgnoted me, asking whether I'd submit a track.

I do have one that might be suitable; some of you have heard an earlier version of it.

I'll post a link to it very soon.

When is the cut-off date/deadline?

I need to find a place that lets you upload tracks in higher quality than 128kbps mp3. Anyone know of any? It has to be free. Thanks in advance...

yamomma, if this song is too long I could probably make an edit of it for you. At this stage, this is the finished jam. If it's not what you're looking for then I have another shorter jam that is similar, but the above is better IMO.

peace

Thank you, Tal! biggrin

This is one of 3 songs I've written for this project. The other ones turned out to be sh.. (No, I'm not really into rockabilly! lol) or too much of a copy (guitar lick from "Kiss"). So I decided to use this one.

I dig the German funk big time... I just wish I could understand the lyrics! smile I thought the 3rd tune was the best by far. Was that actually a guitar or a synth with a guitar sound? Just curious...

To answer your question: it's a real guitar played with a little bit of a chorus effect.
