ok so for about a week now,

i've been working on a song, called "Got Yo Numba"

its a funk song, purely Bass induced, it came to me whilst riding the train,

wrote the lyrics and everything

now that im finishing up the midi,

Im listening to it and it sounds Madd Familiar,

i search through my records,

and i Stole the BassLine from Stevie Wonders Jungle Fever

Not only that i stole

the Basic, theme and writing of Blood On The Dancefloor by Mj

and im like oh shyt...

it was sounding hott too...

has this ever happened to you guys ?

im pondering deleting the song...
i mean it really pissed me off though

Yes. Back in my hay-day, The fellas used to see me with this girl and that girl, and shout out "Yo, pimpin ain't easy, is it?"

Kinda stuck in my head all the way to the notebook later one night.

But I got to writing a little funk/rap kinda thing and low and behold, it was on the radio. Never heard it before that and I still like my version better.

It also had that "Mambo #5" type lyrics that talked about this girl to that one rather the chorus was more like Prince's "Freaks on this side" type crowd chant. Total ego cheese that was funny in the first listen only. But I tell ya, if I was first, it would have been a chart topper like the other two clowns.

Oh yeah: from take on me by aha to "I just died in your arms tonight"... it's always the stuff that you don't like and don't know so well that you end up ripping off. And then you're well embarrassed when you discover it.

There's a HUGELY long thread on here somewhere about a song I collaborated with Bumper on. The song was awesome, but, alas, the main guitar riff sounded pretty much like 17 Days.

I don't have the time to go find the thread, but I defended it tooth and nail, but, yeah, it's 17 Days.

Chord changes are free reign (you didn't copy it note for note, right?), just acknowledge influences while not being a weasel, then post it.
