2005 Message For Prince.org Artist Community:

Prince.org artists,

I want to tell you that I am continually amazed and inspired by the nice work that you all keep showing here. Over the past 3 years, the people of our community have led efforts to rescue music from the hands of corporations and corporate radio, and we have accomplished many goals. We formed the New Funk Order right here! The support of the NFO has been amazing- our message of music freedom and unity has been spread to many, many nations throughout the world. Our peaceful revolution has and will continue, and we hope that you all will participate by sharing your gifts freely as they were given to you freely.

Prince.org is a strong community, full of many diverse people and opinions, but one thing most certainly unifies us, and that is music. As Pilot Beacon has stated, "Music is the New Politic", and we encourage people to exercise their positive freedom by expressing it through the universal medium that is sound.

I know we cannot change free will, nor do we seek to. However, what we seek to do is change the state of mind. For years, people have accepted the processes of humanity and adapted to change even when negative. We here at Prince.org and the NFO seek to stop the progress of corporate change and reinstate it with communal change. Community is what it is all about- equality and peaceful coexistence regardless of personal opinion. We are committed to preserving all artworks, with music being the key media that we are focused upon.

I hope that you will join us this year in the effort. Let's make 2005 an even bigger year in the quest for music freedom and community!

Thank you all,

Your friend,

Jason Dodson
NFO Founder and Community Member.

welcome to the kingdom
you followed that yellow brick road
you saw just how far that rabbit hole goes

now dont send me fan mail
please dont send me fan mail
when you get here

dreams and reality switch
what you scratched is now an itch
your best friend yeah she used to be a bitch

welcome to the kingdom
if you're looking for a treasure chest
its right here over the rainbow
look at those bluebirds fly

dont send me fan mail
please dont send me fan mail
when you get here
I dont want no fan mail
please dont send me fan mail
when you get here

double agents on the loose
leave the devil at the bridge
the whole world sings the chorus
alice you're in wonderland now
welcome to the kingdom

you've climbed every mountain
and yeah you leaned on me
a tidal wave of regeneration
take the red pill
you're the one

so dont send me fan mail
please dont send me fan mail
when you get here
you know I dont want no fan mail
so dont send me fan mail
when you get here
in the kingdom

in this context - ' fan mail ' is personal opinion.

Since there are lots of new peeps up in here lately, I thought I'd post this link for a little org history:

http://newfunkorder.com/P...ectOne.htm

In August 2002, a new section on the site was created just for prince.org musicians. Within that section, members began comparing and critiquing each other's songs, primarily similar in style to Prince's genre - an updated version of 60's and 70's funk, a style that Prince referred to as "New Funk".

One of the groups' more prolific artists, Jason Dodson, introduced the idea to collaborate on a cd. He called it the New Funk Order. Soon, the decision was made to create a compilation of original music. The 18 artists that came together covered many styles of music, making the New Funk Order a truly Prince-inspired concept.

Jason then started work on formulating the NFO into a non-profit organization for artists dedicated to preserving the freedom of music. The New Funk Order is a musical movement, a rebuttal to the political "New World Order" that encourages corporate globalization and the exploitation of art. The New Funk Order demonstrates that artists can provide free music to the public, without the corporate control of a record company. Music is not free. Radio stations can only play a certain percentage of artists that are signed and record companies don't exactly sign artists these days based on artistic merit. The New Funk Order seeks to bind the greed and lies of the past and loose a new freedom in the land of sound.

The online music community www.newfunkorder.com gives home and opportunity to talent from around the world. Marching on with the message "Just as the gift was freely given unto us, in turn it is freely given to you," they carry Prince's "Free the music" strike against the music industry forward.

"Project New Funk Order" is an independent publication of YOUR music, the home recording artist. Every six months, the NFO will release a free compilation of original music and original artwork/packaging for download.

No annoying ads or membership fees. The mission here is to step away from the current system of things and put the control back in the hands of the creators.

Project 3 is coming soon... fro
