its a chat server full of chat rooms, like

#rock
#guitar
#hackers
#chicagobulls

so they have their own chat room that is #H4ck3rsBr

so most hackers from this group frequent this chatroom.

i have a cell phone of one of his friends, i will send lots of messages saying the FBI is in his ass. hehe I told them that hackers are just little boys without girlfriends who are not man enough to act like a man so they started spreading confusion to fullfill their lack of sexual activity. I ranted and did chaos on their channel. They guy got all defensive and said i would fall if i saw his pretty girlfriend. And started calling me names. I was just laugging. The guys are jerks, they do the things and make fun of it to them feel superior. It´s kinda like a mind disease. As a matter of fact i am sorry for them. EMPTY life!

I wish I could read portuguese (sp?) It's tough reading through all that trying to track this kid down.

Actually the hit needs to be on their physical computers. I think that would hurt them the most.

Yeah, if they can cause this much damage having random "fun"... Probably wouldn't want to see what would happen if they actually target someone.

The php index pages need to be replaced.
Unfortunately the newfunkorder forum data was lost.

The good news is NFO made a back up about 6 months ago, so not ALL was lost. Looking back, not a whole lot was lost over the last 6 months on that board. Meaning # of posts. Yeah, we gained a lot of users in that time with the second release and they will have to re join if they want to.

But at least it's not back to the drawing board. Right now, I'm not sure which is going to be easier: Restoring or starting a-new. Probably both equal. The back up server of the hosting provider was also compromised.

But I'm told will NOT happen again.

In any event, the customers that pay for our services take priority right now. The good news is that we're working on the last two now. Unfortunately they are the ones with php data that has to be rebuilt from the ground up. They were brand new and I just got the sign off (and paid) before they went down. I didn't even get the chance to back it up.

My goodness. This is takes the wind out of me.

Just a thought Yamomma, but can you backup all your Data onto a spare HDD. so if something like this happens you Format your server and reinstal, or am i being too simplistic ? And surely as you guy's have identified the 'hacker' can't he / them be reported and taken offline . Kid's are clever, but I would've thought there's some kind of recourse . Like having their ISP shut them off, and having them flagged as a fucking online hazard so no other provider's let them online again. This stinks ! confused
Another thought...wouldn't it fun to send a couple of thousand volts down the Brazilian phone & cable network ! laser boxed Hang on i was just kidding.
NOT !! crash
~PClinuxOS~ yes I've been here longer than I care to remember, ... I drop in from time to time, ... thumbs up!

Yeah. I'll be sure to back up regularly from here on out.

I felt safe before with the nightly server backups, however they were compromised as well.

yamomma, contact www.mirc.com and tell them what the kid is upto and what they are using the channel for, they will shut it down, not only that they will have the kids IP number, good to know for legal proceedings.

When you had a chat with these guys, did you give any info as to specific sites listed?

Curious.

You know, I thought that the first time I read Kelly's post. But, maybe I'm just paranoid. I don't know. I know one thing is for sure. Those enemies of freedom in DC don't like me, and they are tied to the enemy, and the NFO is about freedom, so there you go.

Peace,
JD

Ok...

I'll tell you how this works. I've read enough about these guys in the process of the downtime. These guys create little programs that ping servers looking for vulnerable ports.

It could be months later and the same program is knocking on all the back doors. As soon as one is cracked open, it e-mails it's owner letting him know that there is a leak. That's when they get to hackin away to get inside. Once inside the server, they dispatch a virus into the system.

These guys have a virus that replaces any page named "index" with the big ugly black screen you guys saw. Seems harmless. Most of us could fix that in a day or less depending on how many sites you have.

They didn't care who was on the server, but the server itself and the fact that a 1000 something people would see their mark on Monday morning. It's a total sad boyish ego thing. It's the modern day spray painting grafiti.

Losing the server side data sources was another story.

I swear, this whole week has been just one LONG monday. I swear this and all the things I haven't shared has been so sureal like a movie.
