Question - Inrto to When Doves Cry Is Prince using an octave or vibrator in the intro of when doves cry?

Not sure of the effects but I do know that it is reversed. If you sample it then reverse it, you can probably decipher the sound/tone better. | |

IMHO, it's not reversed. It's a Boss OC-2 Octave pedal and some heavy distortion and he goes:
- pick rake into 12th fret on b and high e strings, then 15-13-12-hammer13-pull 12 on the b, 14 on the g, 12 on the b, 14-12 on the g, 14-12 on the d, 14 on the a, rake into 15-14-15-14 on the high e, sustaining that last note. Really not as difficult as it sounds. (Oh and I can't get that SOTT sound anymore. I traded my compressor when I bought a new distortion and it's essential to that sound.) | |
