"Jackin for beats..."

Long story short, this guy at Acidplanet.com remixed a song of mine without asking permission or even letting me know about it. I left some comments for him, but he didn't seemed all to thrilled about me giving my honest opinion:

disbelief

If he asked I would have let him. Half of the songs I have up there are just demo tracks just to get an idea of what music of mine people are interested in. It's just the whole principle of it. Oh well.

man that is crazy. it's not the first example of "beat-jackin'" I've seen on the web. Unfortunately, imitation is the highest form of flattery. But on the flipside, it is also piracy. It is one thing to flavor a groove in a familiar mode but to outright "use" someone's music in a sample or remix without permission is an offense that deserves a whooping. His response was kinda wack too. The song came up with a copyright notice ( sony 2004 ). disbelief
