I'll take the LogicPro7 please. Or how about a simple TASCAM DAT recorder? I wish I could have spent more time schmoozing.

Would you like fries with that? Next time the convention is in S.F., come early and stay late. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. The other cool thing was being able to hang out and converse with the great RRHOF inductee... ...Bernie Worrell. Don't know who he is? You'd better ask somebody. Few can truthfully lay claim to the term legend. Master keyboardist, Bernie Worrell, can. From the tender age of three when Worrell began tickling the ivories... to his first concert performance at four... to his first Concerto composition at age eight, Worrell was duly certified a prodigy. His studies at the New England Conservatory of Music and Julliard School of Music endowed Worrell with an undeniably strong classical foundation, the substructure for the supernatural experimentation that was to come... Early in his professional life, Worrell was one of the founding members of the supergroup, Parliament- Funkadelic; he co-wrote, co-produced, recorded and performed most of the group's compositions -- classics "Flashlight," "Atomic Dog," "Knee Deep," "Cosmic Slop" and "Red Hot Mama" (to name just a few) -- on its fifty-plus albums and globe-spanning tours. These songs -- and many more with Worrell's consummate musical licks -- continue to remain popular. Additionally, top rap and hip-hop artists and groups including Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Salt 'n' Pepa, Snoop Doggy Dog, En Vogue, Digital Underground, Heavy D, and De La Soul are just a few who have built hit songs around Worrell's one-of-a-kind riffs, making him one of the most "sampled" musicians, period! While many performers may have been content to rest on the laurels of this incredible body of work, Worrell continues to flex his considerable creative and musical muscle. Worrell collaborated on critically and commercially acclaimed music projects with artists and groups including The Rolling Stones, The Pretenders, Soul Asylum, Jody Watley, Keith Richards; he provided an influential contribution on the seminal video and album "Stop Making Sense" by Talking Heads. Keith Richards notes "the rare qualities of intuition and taste -- not to mention humor -- all come together in Bernie Worrell," and David Byrne cites Worrell as "a genius." www.arielpublicity.com/bernie_worrell Official Webpage: www.bernieworrell.com tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Nah, Bernie was as straight as an arrow. (didn't realize he's as old as he is) Now George, that's a funk of an entirely different odor. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Yeah, Bernie's The Man!!! My friend Larry actually co-wrote a book on P-Funk, and is friends with Bernie and his wife, Judy. we actually hung out with him after a show here in DC a few years ago, we were down in Larry's basement and Bernie decides to get on the keys---I'm thinkin , "Damn, man! Bernie's Playin' YOUR keyboard ! You can't touch it after this!! I later asked Bernie, since he's played with so many people, who he would've liked to play with if he had the chance. Without Hesitation, he replied, "Hendrix! Definitely Hendrix..." ... [Edited 11/5/04 12:01pm] " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout

Oh yeah!! Bernie's a realmutha4ya! I had the chance of meeting him too, yeah he is up there in age. When I was talking to him he made the remark "I'm getting to old for this shit" I was like shit as long as someone can still roll your ass up to the keyboard and you still have slight movement in you arms and hands, don't stop! That's how Sun Ra was doing it at the last show I seen him at and I'm sure he was ninety something at the time.

O.K. Neal, your having way too much Fun,
Just Kidding, Keep it coming, I'd love to hear what it's like to play in front of 25 thousand people. Technically, like what did it sound like on stage ? How was the place set up; Amps, P.A. etc. Maybe you could make a thread, then again, just a reply here would be cool, as you don't wanna seem like your showing off. ~PClinuxOS~ I've been here longer than I care to remember, ... No it's not about showing off with me. Bottom line is that it happened. I hadn't thought about that gig (Sept. 2000) in quite a while until LP brought it up in the Modern Drummer article. But now that you've mentioned it, the "feeling" for me was more than just playing for such a large crowd. There's actually quite a backstory to that gig. The fact that it was my 1st gig outside of the U.S., the other players involved, observations about how another culture knew more about the history of jazz than most Americans. Maybe I will do a thread because there might be some info about playing in bands and the interpersonal relationships involved that could be helpful to younger players. I'll have to think on that a bit. Thanks for asking FLUX and bringing back some great memories again. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Bottom line is that it happened. I hadn't thought about that gig (Sept. 2000) in quite a while until LP brought it up in the Modern Drummer article. I read the Article, and was intrigued. After i posted that question about the concert i thought; "Shit why did i do that?" "I've put him on the spot now." Thanks for taking the enquiry in the vein it was put, a childish inquisition. The other points you raised are very interesting also. Demographics, & psychology of a moment. ~PClinuxOS~ I've been here longer than I care to remember, ... I drop in from time to time, ...
