man.....I usually just hang back and watch you guys from afar.....Otan, TheAudience.....and all the others.....it is fun to watch you guys trade info on gear, software, recording, playing techniques, etc. But damn...this Variax looks insanely cool! I have a nice tele that gets funky just looking at it.....a sweet hollowbody Gibson, and an acoustic with a pick-up....in reality, all a guitarist should ever "need"...but "want". "Want" is an entirely different thing! I gotta get off the internet (aka Music gear window shopping) and work with the gear I have! keep jammin'!

Otan- you and I have some things in common....music is our passion, but it is now balanced by a life of responsibility (which I would never trade for TWO worlds). We could all go nuts on gear, but I have enough to make some pumpin' tracks. I really want to track a solo disc for no other reason than just to slam out some music that I enjoy creating and want to hear. These days.....it is a question of working "smarter" as time is divided more than as a kid growing up. But I think experience will be a good trade for getting some tracks done in a lesser amount of working time. Been there and done that with bands. Played every dive 10 times over and a few outstanding gigs. I suppose I have less tolerance for the obligatory slacking band member than I did in the past...so tracking tunes @ home isn't such a bad trade! Whew.....20 subjects all stemming from how cool that Variax looks! Of course, if Greazy Meal, rev. 2 starts up..... you can throw all the solo stuff out...I am the first to join another band! Viva Le Funk!
