D.M.S.R Just wondering if any of you wonderful people (okay, I'm trying too hard to butter people up), if anyone has the chords etc.. to D.M.S.R. Having watched it on the muchmusic performances my love of the song has been replenished.

The muchmoremusic performances are downloadable from the website. They are three video clips of live performances from earlier this year on a (I think) Canadian music show. The band performed Kiss, Musicology and D.M.S.R. and they were seriously tight. .

Man, I'd really dig the bassline to this song. I just bought a bass guitar and while it's not that hard to do basic stuff, I think if I learned this bassline I'd have a leg up on the more sophisticated funk lines.
If you know it, please post it. Thanks.

In whatever is the root, let's say it's A. Consider the pattern as being over three frets and two strings, like this:
Understand that part first? You'll be popping thumping around that vicinity, along with hitting the root note, G. This is what I refer to as the BOX pattern. First note is a pop/pull-off on the D string, 5-3, which is pulling on the D string, fretted at 5th fret, pull off to the 3rd, then thump the A string 1-3. tabbed: G:---- D:5-3--| A:----|1-1-3 E: THAT is about it for the most part. Pull-off, thump-up. Cloud9Mission gave me some very helpful advice about thump/popping: move your right hand as LITTLE as possible. While you'd WANT to be wanking away on the bass cuz it looks cool, the less movement you make, the more even the volume is on each note. I don't know if this tab makes sense. You'll need to figure out the key of the song first. The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

The song is in Db
And the bass line my friends is like thus db E Gb Ab Db (A small case letter denotes a higher note (octave above) than a capital letter(octave bellow). g---6----- D-----2-4-6-----2----- A-----4-----4h1----- E----- This tab has messed up since i have posted it. It looks completely wrong from how i wrote it initialy. I have tried many different ways but i cannot seem to fix the problem. Any ideas? i will be glad to re-post. Note: until i can rectify this problem, the above tab resembles nothing like the bass line to DMSR [Edited 10/22/04 4:30am] You do as I say

Here's what I played, and it sounded right: Db-B-E-Gb-Ab-Db. The "Db-B" was a pull-off, part of a Db-B-E triplet(? three notes in a row). I think the other note in the second half of the run is just a Db-B pull-off.
Thanks for everybody's help.
