Computer Blue Solo Hard or Easy

I have read so often that most guitarist find the Computer Blue solo very hard to play.

For those in the know, what makes it so difficult to play?

Has anyone found it easy to play?

It's not very hard. The melodic "father's song part"is quite easy, the fast repeating lick with the hammer-ons is actually a lot easier than it sounds, it just takes some finger strenght. The feedback on the extended version is impossible to copy, but that's something else than a difficult guitar part. I think the outro to Let's go crazy is the most difficult guitar part on the PR album to faithfully reproduce.

Agreed. "Father's Song" was the first solo I ever learned, and it's still my favorite to this day. Listen to it through headphones - there's a lot of interesting stuff going on underneath.

If you get powertab here: http://www.power-tab.net/

You can then get this: http://www.powertabs.net/...=song,9715 and judge for yourself how tricky it is. I've never learnt this but from ear I do agree with Hectim totally. The tab that this dude has done seems accurate enough when compared to most of the shitty excuses you find on the internet biggrin
jerkoff.....drool BULLSEYE! cool

I find the "Fathers Song" part of the solo nice and easy to play, but have to admit the the faste first break is hard to play properly. I am considering a similie, but got to do it right really i guess!

i know what you mean the first break is hard to get off
in the begginning i could do it at at a slow tempo
butdoing it the actual speed is a tad tricky
The best you can do is just memerize it
and play it slowly gradually going faster
Now i play with easei play along with computer blue and it sounds the same except im using a tele, not exactly the same sound hehe

IIRC, all of the PR album was recorded using the Hohner, so you might not be far off, tonewise. Anyway, the trick to the fast riff is that the picked notes are in time, but the hammer-ons and hammer offs are just as-fast-as-you-can type things.
