REAL MINE Some more work on this track and this could be a keeper! I like all the different directions. Very Jimi inspired. Then that little Linn drum thingy at the end was pretty cool. KILLING A CARNIVAL Fatten those guitar tones up. Cool sounds you got going on here. This sounds like a PERFECT segue that would go on an album somewhere perhaps with some spoken dialogue or a movie soundtrack. The bass is VERY distorted coming through my monitors. Maybe mix that down a little? What I love MOST about Collar of Skin is that every one of your songs that you display sound NOTHING like the last one. I can't wait until you guys have an album ready. I'll snatch one up! You guys cover a broad spectrum of sounds and that's very rare in most bands. So many people stick to one genre and albums sound all alike. GREAT WORK GUYS!!! see ya! dont stress over mixing... think of your mixing visually - with everything in a room. Some things will sound quieter because they're farther away, and they'll have more reverb, and then the closer things will have less reverb. Default drumkits have things panned all over the place, but a real drumkit wont have things panned like that, unless you're sitting AT the drum kit. I put my drums all very close to the center, (cymbals, toms, etc... all centered or off only by 10-20%). If you CAN put more reverb on the snare, it helps. With guitars, try not to pan too far out either, unless the instrument's volume is really low. Otherwise, you're pulling the listener's focus in too many directions, "hey listen over here! now over here! cymbals on your left! guitars way on the right!" it's difficult to follow all that stuff with your mind. Of course, if you put everything in the center, then it's mono, which is boring, right? Think of Panning like spices. Too much spice and the food is just hard to eat... no spice at all and it's just boring. But use a little spice here and there and the spice really compliments the dish. Same with panning. A little here and there will be all you need to pull put some space into your mix. Stereo reverb and chorus - those are also like other spices. I gotta run, but I hope this helps to bring life to your mixes. The songs are good, but very dissected right now. Pan everything to the center, and then start pulling things out a little bit at a time. B The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

Haaaaay 7
Interesting. But U sure you didn't confuse your titles. In Real Mine I hear the Carnival (reminds me of a merry-go-round) in the intro.

Red, I don´t know the song didn´t have a title and the first thing that came to my mind was this, it´s a kind of a poor irony, but i will probably change it later.
Hey Otan, i just panned everything because I was imagining a real drum set, but then after what you said it really started to disturb me, to hear lots os things coming from all sides, then i panned almost everything to the center again, oh, as a matter of fact I am following all your hints and it is sounding better. thanks man, you rule!

I liked the beat very much, I am tripping over it yet to have ideas. Today is the birthday of my girl and i was rehearsing some songs on piano like Beauty and Beast, Aladdin theme, Fur Elise and this things, but tomorrow i will start adding things to the beat, man i am really tripping over that beats i think i must need a joint.
This real mine song, is just me trying to do something different, I was going after a industrial sound but with funkadelic and jimi mixed, i dont think it came as i was expectin, but i thought it was cool and shit:demon: And the song is about nothing, I haven´t read the lyrics.
