Currently, Andrew Black and I are looking into starting a new band combining the best of his and the best of my material – NOT playing restaurants, but actually hitting the live-music venues and pimping the music hard.

So, I’ve been giving Andrew demo after demo, and he’s been listening to them, and then giving them away. Over the weekend, he gave a copy to Russel Carter. Who is that? He manages Matthew Sweet, Collective Soul, Driving N Crying, and pretty much any big name pop/rock artist that comes out of Atlanta.

Last Sunday night, right before the last set of the night, the current band goes out back to hear a couple of the songs on this demo. In particular,

After hearing them ONE TIME and laughing about the lyrics, we went back in to do the last set, in front of 4 people but hey, who cares, it’s 1:15 on a Sunday night. Andrew says, “hey let’s play those songs” and holy mother of holy crap, this band nailed the songs bam, just like that. I swear. And they sounded better than ever. I’ve been playing “Oh Face” with about 4 different bands and it’s always fallen short of my dream. Sunday, bam, these dudes hit it.

So, hey, things are looking up. I’m hoping to be huge within 4 months, and it’s not just the holiday food I’m talking about.

Oh Face is a song from about 4-5 years ago. I think it's the first thing I ever posted up on this board, so, it probably fell into the abyss but it's being rejuvinated.

Tal I'm playing Friday(tonight) at Front Page News in Midtown and Sunday night over at Fuzzys - play from 10 til 2. And yes, Monday's really really really suck.
