We're Alive! (Again)

God, No more hurricanes this year....
please.

All is good. This one was more powerful, yet moved through more quickly. There was a lot more structure damage to the city this time. This one seemed a little more "selective" on who's roof came off and who's didn't.

Crazy this weather stuff.

I'm tellin' ya. When I make my first million (and I'm pretty determinded) I'm going to build a new studio on top of a mountain in Tennessee! My own paisly park and all you guys would be welcome to come by and record.

I kinda miss the seasons too. It's just hot, hot and really hot down here.

New (mean) Hurricane

Well. Here comes another one. Category 3 that is expected to move up to a 4 and now possibly even a 5. The path it's made has kept it on the ocean missing all the usual paths through the islands that usually slows these things down a bit. We were out of power for about 5 days. Many other people in Palm Beach were out for around 2 weeks. They say this one could keep us out of power for up to a month. I was born and raised in the mountains of Tennessee, so my survival skills are pretty good. But when you have 2 babies, you kinda need/prefer these things called electricity and running water.

Just wanted to write in and give you guys a heads up in case I get knocked off-line for a while.

I read yesturday morning that 1000 people were killed in Haiti by this hurricane.

Little scared neutral

Everything will be cool, Kelly. I am praying for you and your family's safety. I called you last night to see how everything was going and I left a message.

Peace,
JD

must have called the office or studio.
I was in Orlando shooting video this week. I just got back around 2am this morning. I'm down at my father-in-law's house helping him with his storm shutters after about 3 hours of sleep. It's these 80 year old houses that are the safest down here.

The news is telling us to expect the power to go out around 2 pm this afternoon as the outer bands come ashore. This one is coming in at 14 mph while the last one hanged out for over 24 hours traveling at 2 mph.

[b]The scary thing I saw this morning was that after the last one, we now have 50 to 100 lbs projectiles sitting in front of everyone's homes from all the trees that fell that were cut up. Those will go right through your window no matter if you covered it with plywood or not. Damn I wish I had a garage to put the car.

Speaking of which, now I have to go return the rental car that I got for my work trip.

I followed the link to your site and saw that you were from West Palm.

That is a big Kawinkydink!

We know the all the cool people come out of Tennessee. Learn some good "hard-work" ethics. Ya know?

Yes. thanks!
We were deffinately in the blessed zone.
Lots of people just a hair north of us were not.

I sure hope this season is over. I think I've had enough. This really drains you both physically and mentally. I was just up in the trees this morning at the studio wraping rope around the big hanging branches to pull them down. I'd hate see them fall on one of Frank's students.

I'm sure I have a bunch of catch-up to do when the power comes back at the office.

Love this line from the article:
"I'll take my earthquakes over those hurricanes any day," said John Varian, a lifelong resident and owner of the Parkfield Cafe, where food spilled out of the cupboards Tuesday.

Let's pray this season of extreme weather is over for all of us.
