Ru Paul and Now Explosion - Atlanta 1980.

This page has links to videos from Ru Paul and another killer freako funk band, Now Explosion. These are lo lo lo budget vids, but it's awesome to watch stuff like this - when you hear the talent in this forum and think, crap, any one of us could be doing stuff like this.

Why is it Artist Community-related? Well. um. I met Ru Paul once, he was a local musician here in Atlanta, and his freakiness inspired me to get my music going. Ditto with Now Explosion. I know this stuff must look amateurish and tame now, but, it reminds me of Electric Purple's stuff, Paisleypark4, and VinaBlue... if you three got together, this is what it would look/sound like.

yeah! That video was filmed in a part of Atlanta called Cabbagetown. I recognize half the crap in those videos, thinking, oh HELL, they're in the crappiest parts of Atlanta. THAT was PUNK ROCK! I'm sure there's some Prince vids like this somewhere.

I'll have to check that out. Funny, I just watched that movie "Too Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar" and RuPaul is in it.
