Brat It & Van Halen Is anyone here in the opinion that MJ song Beat it would lack punch without Van Halen's solo?
I think the song is great, especially if you are learning to play the guitar bar the solo the rest is fairlary simple and yet it produces a great sound/result! I think the song is good, but without that killer solo, it would definetley be missing something! escpecially when played live/ What do you think?

At that time, I was around 11 yrs old and that guitar solo was pretty killer. So yeah, it made the song better, though, I believe Eddie Van Halen was completely embarassed about it. Must of been good money.
Personally, I think MJ has far better songs

I dunno. Without Eddie, it would still be a kickass tune. WITH Eddie it gets an extra oomph/nod to the manly metal world that MJ could never do alone.
But if you threw in any other guitar player to play that riff, (was it even Eddie playing the riff thru out the song?) it would still kick some ass. BUT, the real question is, could anybody else play Eruption? The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3
