Hello all-New member from NJ!

Hello!!

I am a recently registered new member to this site and these forums. I'm a 40 year old single female, with cats, I write poetry, create graphic art using computer software programs such as Bryce, Poser, and various fractal programs. I also like to play guitars, lead, and 12 string...

Anyway, I was a big time Prince fan especially during his "Purple Rain" days. I saw him at the Nassau Colliseum during his Purple Rain tour and we had front row seats, what a treat, and of course, what a show!!

I now just saw him again recently, about two weeks ago, during his "Musicology" tour, by a friend's invite. We saw him at the Continental Arena, in the Meadowlands, that's in East Rutherford NJ, same place where Giants Stadium is located.

Anyway, I have a forum of my own on world crossing called "Graphic Artists United II". It's HTML customizable, and I decorate it with all of my own art, background, banners, etc. It also allows you to post music, in wav. format, so that's really cool too! It's the only place I know of on the internet that lets you do all of that for free.

The reason I am telling about it is because I have a thread with a "review" of my recent Prince concert experience. In it tells my opinions of the show, has music posted in the header/top post that starts automatically, a Prince song of course, and has a link to a video/audio presentation I made of Prince called "Prince-Then and Now". If you click the link in the first post in that thread, and you have Windows Media Player, you will come to a little thumbnail where the presentation is uploaded to. Just click on THAT thumbnail, and your windows media player will pop up! If you are on dial up (like me-I did have cable but got cut off and had to go back to dial up), but if you're on dial up, it does take a couple of minutes to "buffer" before it will begin to play. It's all clips of Prince with one of his songs playing at the same time....

So, here is the link to the forum, just scroll down until you see the threads, click on the thread title that says "My Prince concert review.....", and you'll see the review, and the link is in the top post with the music, a couple of pics. There are more Prince pics posted in the thread following that top post, but I'm sure you've all probably seen those all before!! LOL

Here's the link if you'd like to check it out:

Thanks for listening!! smile

Even easier, here is a link that will take you DIRECTLY into the Prince thread. This way you don't have to wait for the front page of the forum to load ... it takes awhile if you're on dial up, because I have an opening song posted, a banner, lots of links, so this link will take you straight into the thread. Just scroll down a little past my picture of Stuart Townsend as my favorite rock star vampire "Lestat", from the movie "Queen of the Damned". Then you'll see the first/header post of the Prince thread. I posted a Lestat pic, (which by the way is a screen capture I took myself, I have close to 500 of Stuart as Lestat screen caps, he he), because I just think he's so gorgeous!! LOL

Here's the link to the Prince thread directly:

Hi!
welcome to the community artist forum.

Your site says you have to register to view your artwork. I'll have to do that soon.

Nice to see another Lestat fan. Unfortunatly, "Queen of the Damned" was horrid in my opinion. They totally ruined a very cool story by Anne Rice. The orginal movie "Interview with a vampire" was a great adaptation of the books, except for maybe using Antonio as Armand. (He was supposed to be like a 400 year old kid right?)

You don't look 40 by any means. Keep up the good diet, attitude, what ever you do!

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks to everyone who welcomed me here, I appreciate that.

That's weird that my site/forum says you have to register to view it, I could of swore I set it so anonymous users can view and post, I'll have to double check it. But if you want to register, they send you a confirm email, just click the link, and you're a full member, which means you can browse and post in any of their publicly listed forums, and create one of your own, and it's free, but still, I'll have to double check the settings for my forum, it shouldn't say that...thanks for telling me...

PS:

LOL, thanks, but that's Peta Wilson, she played "Nikita" in the former USA original cable series "La Femme Nikita", based on the movie. Now my all time fav. series, even though it's been cancelled. "LFN" is another fav. of mine.

Sorry you felt that way about the movie "Queen of the Damned". I thought it was so good, I've seen it so many times, and downloaded most of the soundtrack songs from it, that I practically know the script by heart!! LOL wink

Hi. I'm from NJ originally but now live in Manhattan.

I am an amateur keyboard player and always wanted to find other musicians who like Prince to jam with.

(i also have a bass and some congas from Sheila E).

Where in NJ are you? (and any other peeps out there who want to do some informal jamming?)
