Connecting Mics 2 The PC

I have a question, I have a Audio Technica Mic with a XLR connection and I am gonna by a XLR to Jack cable so will I be able 2 use the Mic on my PC. I don't think my PC has a Jack connection so will I need to buy any additional hardware 4 my PC so I connect the mic 2 my PC?.

Thanx

Unless you have the unlikely scenario where your Mic connection is a phono socket (e.g. for CD, Aux, Phono connection on Hi-Fi's etc...), it WILL ne a jack socket.

The main difference will be the size. Most soundcards have a 3.5mm jack socket for Mic, Line In, Line Out fundamentally.

Your XLR-Jack lead may probably be 6.3mm jack so U may need a 6.3mm to 3.5mm jack adapter (it's just a headphone adapter in reverse).

Give this a try and see how it goes.
