Assuming you're a guitarist, this is how I play it:
Bb X13331 This is it, it's Eb7 X68686 time 4 u 2 go 2 the Bb (2) 688766 wire and so on... and then the chorus Bb (2) 688766 Cream Eb7 X68686 get on top Bb (2) 688766 Cream Eb7 X68686 don't U stop Bb (2) 688766 Cream, sh Ab 466544 -boogie Bb X13331 -bop not too hard. enjoy! | |

The "Cream Sh-Boogie-Bop" part is played different ways. When I was playing it by ear, I played:
Cream Eb Sh-Boogie Db Bop Bb Then I saw on the "The Art of Musicology" that Prince played it Gm-Ab-Bb. The music book has a third progression, but I forget what it is. Maybe Eb-Gm-Bb, I think. All versions sound good, and each one has a different feel. Choose one to set the mood you're looking for. | |
