whatever u say ---- hey everyone
I lurk here a lot. Good tunes going in and out of here. I don't usually post many songs too often cause sometimes I just aint funky enough. hehe -- I jump from style to style too much. Anyhow here's a tune some might like. Let me know what you think. Toy http://www.soundclick.com...nmusic.htm

This is cool, reminds my off Beck, You should have been born back in the sixties,
I just see the go go girls playing tamborines, and psychodelic lights flashing, this is straight up retro. Very cool! It gets a lil static at points, the synths add a lil but even tho you pla different lines the sound is the same and it becomes tranparent to the ear. I would mix in some nice elec guitar licks to add some passion and electricity. Also at the begining it sounds like your talking to a girl, so it would be too cool to have a girl singing the hook, and then in the next or last both of you in harmony. I know sometimes its hard to hook up with other singers tho, just a thought. Overall I was really digg'n it, you got mojo!....

hey littlewing
alright you caught me off guard there with the sixties thing, never crossed my mind, that's cool. I do have a tendency for retro. You gave me some great feedback and I appretiate that. Your right about adding some more e. guitar - I wanted to keep the song simple and not interfere with the groove, but I could have added someting more. The lyrics are actually an interplay between two people. I wanted to get a chick to sing parts of it with me, but none of the women I know can sing. I sat back and listened to your tunes the other night and was impressed. You have that party / club feel happening on Break it Down and have a ton of that club low end going on in the mix. Sounds like you threw it over the entire mix or mixed it using a PA monitor combo, the vocals and some of the other instruments don't cut through like they could at least not on my monitors. Just a suggestion, otherwise a very cool tune. Toy http://www.soundclick.com...nmusic.htm

Took me a while to listen to this. Sorry, it took so long. I am in love with Whatever You Say Littlewing is right. This is very reminiscent of Beck. But it also reminds me a lot of Lewis Taylor... matter of fact, all of your tracks do. I am definitely in awe. You heard my song "Make It By" well "Whatever You Say" is exactly what I was trying to accomplish. Yessir... I'm definitely jealous.

Whatta cool vibe. I hear the 60's thing, I hear the beck thing but I'm feelin you and that's all that matters in my book (whatever book that is).
whatever you say- first, Love the drum and bass break down at :40, tightly put together, great production quality This is all you? What are you recording with? It just sounds great.

psykosoul - I've never been compared to beck before, think I'm moving up in the comparision department. I definitly have to go check out Lewis Taylor. Thanks for listening I appretiate your comments.
You know, I'd like to lay down some vocal tracks to Make it by, whether or not you have lyrics. If you want to collaborate, let me know. --- slave - I still don't hear the 60's thing... lol ...maybe a 70's thing or perhaps my mind just don't go back that far. I'm am a one man band. I use a Tascam DM24 Mixer / Sonar and a UAD-1 card. I have a ton of the best low budget stuff I could get my hands on and use two sets of monitors both which I got for under $200 (Audix 1A's and a pair of JBL 6208's, which i use for imaging and more low end work) I have the bedroom thing going on but I sleep on an air matress so I can just plop my bed against the wall and use it as a sound dampener. ok.. probably more than you were asking... anyway thanks for the comments and listen. talmuz - I'd definitly be smokin it with ya. no papers? I always keep my aluminum wrapped toilet paper roll ready for action. lol - Thanks
artist08 - I took my time mixing and mastering this one. I usually rush through the last bit too quick. hey I checked out your tunes a while ago and I noticed you like to bounce around with different styles as well. I'm the same way. The P-Melody was way cool you caught me off guard with that. Good stuff. Psyko - Hey man I haven't forgotten about Make it by - Were going to do that song up! Do you have any lyrics for it? What program do you use to record? Also, I have a cable connection to the internet so we could do some file transfers online if possible. let me know, I don't usually collaborate and maybe you have a certain or better way of doing things. GOOD NEWS: I got an offer from a guy in the UK to take the vocals from whatever u say and remix the song to a dance format. He's had 45 previous releases and wants to get the song on a compilation and a 12inch release. We'll see how this goes, good I hope. Toy http://www.soundclick.com...nmusic.htm

That sounds like a good idea... I might try that. What a groovy, sexy song! It would be really cool to hear a girl on this with you. I dig all your tracks, you should post more often. Lovin it. [This message was edited Thu Jul 15 21:41:19 2004 by VinaBlue]

Hey, Prince jumps around from style to style! I really like Flowers in the Garden. Please keep us in the loop, I see from your first post that you've taken down those tracks that we first listened to... I'm sure we've missed out on other great tracks that you thought we might not like... I love your voice! Don't deprive us!!!

thanks Vina, I will do that. I really, really wanted a girl to sing along on these tracks as well. In fact there are a lot of times I want female vocals. Could I call upon you from time to time. I like your style. I'm listening to your tunes right now. Very good! Do you play everything yourself?
thanks vina. | |

Okay, here goes!
First of all I listened to all the songs that you have posted and that in itself is something that I rarely do. The sonic textures, atmospheres and colors you create in "Sold the World" are something every music listener will enjoy (my opinion). To sum it up, I would not only recomend and buy the album, I'd anticipate the release of the next. J.
