Not funky. NOT funky. http://www.blindslim.com/...ictian.mp3
I'm working on a score for a short film. This is what I pulled out of my ass tonight. It's the most recording I've done in 3 months, so, gosh, wow, it's awesome. Vangelis would be proud. The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

Awesome keyboard work... Okay tell all. When you started this project what did you start with first?

Very cool man! It kinda reminds me a bit of the intro to Condition of the Heart. I love the mix of piano and spacey keyboard sounds.

This is the only group I know of that requires a NOT FUNKY disclaimer. I think that's funny.
I like that synth sound with the piano, very cool. What are you using? it sounds like a moog emu. Kept me listening to the end. Toy http://www.soundclick.com...nmusic.htm

Last night at 10pm I found a post on another site:
Tomorrow I'm turning in a 2 and a half minute movie and am having a lot of trouble finding the proper score for it. I originally didn't try to find a composer due to the sheer lack of time, but it turns out that even my vast mp3 collection isn't proving useful.
The movie is about a guy who is eating a burger and is approached by two guys who want it. A chase ensues, and it appears that they are going to kill him, and in the end, all they want is the food. Monumentally lame, but fun. I shot it kind of like a western and in 2.35 aspect ratio, so it looks kind of interesting. Thanks. I took it as a challenge and ran to the basement and got on my Yamaza EX7. Did the whole composition in 30 minutes. I did the piano first. After messing around a bit, I wanted something that sounded more like "Planet of the Apes" but, all I could do was to come up with some sort of wrist-slashing SE7EN / Kalifornia kind of soundtrack. But I went with it. The one thing important to me about this is the prevalent theme of those three notes - repeated. Without it, all I was doing was stumbling around the keyboard, (uh, ahem, which I so totally WAS). Next was the way low rumbling noise that morphs into something like blowing into a bottle. Very natural sounding and dark as well. Then was the very high warbling sound. After the main piano part, I was just looking to add atmosphere to the thing. And then I added the whale noises on the right, and THEN the moog-type lead instrument on the left. And THEN I added buttload of verb to the piano, the whale noise and the high-pitched warbling, and added chorus to the lead, the whale, and um, the low rumbling-into-bottle blowing. The best part is the moogfart at the very end. It says, "I am done with you!". Alas. The dude heard it and said it had nothing to do with his film. To which I responded with, "well, I'm sure you can get Danny Elfman to throw something together for you in 5 hours bitch". I'm easygoing like that, yo. I think it's more of a joke... It's just cool to know what kind of music you're about to hear. Maybe it's because we're on a Prince site and it might be expected that we will sound like him. It's the creativity that's important.

What was the film about ? ** about two and a half minutes too long. AHAHAHAHAHA. oh. I hurt myself. He said it was a western-themed chase through a mall - two dudes chase another guy for his hamburger. That's EXACTLY what I'm trying to say with my music here - the minor-key piano runs, the ambient blade-runner-whooshes - it all screams "give me that big mac". um. if you kinda squint.
