When Doves Cry

Can anyone please tell me what guitar effects Prince uses in the opening sequence of when doves cry?

I have experiemented with different tones, but without any luck?

Sounds to me like just a distortion pedal but EQed EXTREAMLY DRY.

What do you mean by EQed extremely dry?

Absolutely no reverb.

Running through a mixing board, I turn the reverb knob -12 and it seems to give the same effect. Depending on what guitar amp you use, you should be able to do the same through the amp.
